Yes. And I did make it for reunion dinner back in singapore on this faithful sunday evening after a great exercise in New Zealand. New Zealand is beautiful, with fascinating buildings, churches and stunning landscapes. The country is clean, so clean. No wonder they place such emphasis on any form of dirt/mud/soil/agriculture/food/animal stocks into the country. Tough checks on our stuff by the MAF! (ministry of agriculture and forestry)
9.5 hours flight back, travelling through a five-hour time zone, I felt the toll in me the moment I tried to take a 2 hour nap at 9.30pm. Wanted to catch a soccer game later and out praying through the lunar new year wee hours, as we've always done so. Kopi grew up fast, he's much bigger just 3 weeks. Absence makes the heart fonder. He knew, I am back; and he was exhilarated. I love him just as much.
So, came lunar new year. But I was in bed till early morning 7, had to recover from the serious jet lag. Out for a whole day, and brought kopi to visit my ah ma this afternoon. She was so glad to see him, and kopi clearly remembers ah ma's voice and the place. Now back for the night. These days never felt so different before. never before.
On the lighter note, I looked at a photo on my desk. Has always been there. A photo of me with my dad and mom on enlistment day. I heaved a sigh of relief, and told myself finally I can say ORD with peace. (: been almost 2 years already, so fast... so fast...
... two weeks left.
